Introducing Rockford Chiropractor Dr. David Girgenti
"I admit, I was a skeptic," remembers Dr. David Girgenti. "But a friend insisted that I try chiropractic since I had been experiencing daily headaches for nearly three months after a car accident. I was reluctant, but in order to satisfy my persistent friend I made an appointment to visit a local chiropractor."
"It was incredible," continues Dr. Girgenti. "I‘ll never forget my first adjustment. It was as if a huge weight was suddenly lifted off my neck and shoulders. In three visits my headaches were gone. That’s when I knew I wanted to be a chiropractor."
Dr. Girgenti began his pre-chiropractic education at Southern Illinois University where he studied the basic sciences such as organic and inorganic chemistry, biology, along with anatomy and physiology courses.
After completing his study there, he was accepted at the National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, Illinois. During his years at National, courses included biochemistry, a major emphasis on human anatomy and physiology X-ray, diagnosis, as well as chiropractic adjusting techniques. Dr. Girgenti completed his internship at the Janse Patient and Research Center . After graduating in 1982, Dr. Girgenti returned to his hometown of Rockford to establish his practice.
"I love skeptics," smiles Dr. Girgenti. "I still remember the concerns and apprehension I had when I went to the chiropractor for the first time. I make it a point to explain everything in advance, answer questions and really focus on all the details. I think patients appreciate that."
Dr. Girgenti is married to Lori and they have five children. The children do not receive routine immunizations or antibiotics. (If that sounds interesting, be sure to ask Dr. Girgenti to explain!)
